Through immersive workshops, rehearsals, and performances, students develop skills in acting, singing, movement, collaboration, and creative expression while building confidence both on and off the stage. Whether writing an original musical, performing in the development of a new work, or preparing for high school and college auditions, Skylight Spotlight gives students a unique opportunity to learn inside a professional music theatre environment, taught by Skylight’s finest professionals.

Programs culminate in performances or showcase experiences for family and friends, celebrating the creativity and growth of each participant. Designed for a range of experience levels, Skylight Spotlight empowers the next generation of theatrical storytellers to discover their voice, develop their craft, and take the stage.

Grace and the Butterfly Effect is an exciting new musical about courage, friendship, and resilience through one girl’s quest to save the butterflies from becoming extinct. This original piece will be produced and directed by working professionals at Skylight Music Theatre.
Instruction emphasizes performing skills, character development, and the art of taking direction and applying feedback in real time, fostering growth and confidence on stage. There will be one professional performer as part of the production. The program culminates in a performance that is open to family and friends. The added excitement of being a part of the creation of a new musical is a rare experience, as the work that takes place over the course of this program will forever be a part of this new musical as it moves on to other theatres across the country and world.
