YOUTH PERFORMERS (SEEKING LOCALS ONLY)
BABY JUNE
Female presenting, 9-10
Vocal Range: Mezzo
A Shirley Temple-like, up-and-coming vaudeville star, and Madam Rose’s baby daughter and shining star. Her onstage demeanor is sugary-sweet, cute, precocious, and adorable. An extroverted child. Great dancer and mini belter! Ability to do the splits a plus but not required.
BABY LOUISE
Female presenting, 10-12
Vocal Range: Mezzo
Should look a couple years older than Baby June. She is Madam Rose’s brow-beaten oldest daughter and has always played second fiddle to her baby sister. She is shy, awkward, and a little sad and subdued; has nowhere near the confidence of her sister. Strong acting skills needed. The character always dances slightly out of step but the youth performer playing this part must be able to dance.
ENSEMBLE
Ages 9-14
6 children who are part of Baby June’s act. Ability of one child to play violin or clarinet (or other instrument) is a plus. Will also feature in small non-speaking roles and cover Baby June and Baby Louise. Looking for 2 female presenting and 4 male presenting, but will accept any combination.
